There’s nothing but heaven at Purgatory Resort.
The ski area in Durango, Colorado has been blessed with certain snowfall during this week, as a big storm sweeps across the country. The resort got 15” of snow overnight, and there’s more in the forecast.
“Love is in the air—and on the slopes—this Valentine’s Day at Purgatory Resort!” a marketing email said.

As of the afternoon of February 14, 2025, there were 99 of 107 trails open, and 44 of those were freshly groomed. The Pitchfork and Halo Terrain parks are open with 21 features. The snowfall is more than welcome: the resort had only received 78” of the fresh stuff all season long until this storm.
Another 3 to 5” is expected during the day. A winter storm waring has been issued by the National Weather Service in the Southwest San Juan Mountains until 6 p.m. on Saturday. Another inch of snow is projected to come down on Saturday, and another 2.5 inches is in the forecast for Monday and Tuesday, according to On The Snow.
The snow report states that Ray’s Ridge and Upper Hades are the groomers choices. The resort is having a demo day on Saturday, and giving away a snowboard in tandem with Ska Brewing at the Purgy Deck.

“Thanks to our grooming and plow crews for their hard work overnight. Take your time getting to the mountain and carpool as much as possible,” the report says. “Come on up this holiday weekend and dive into some deep turns with these excellent conditions.”
