I like the way you move (in that halfpipe). Big Boi will perform at The Snow League’s opening event in Aspen.

One half of the legendary Atlanta hip hop duo OutKast, Big Boi will headline a live performance to close out the two-day contest’s debut.

“I couldn’t be more excited to have Big Boi join us for this milestone moment in snowboarding,” said Shaun White, the founder of The Snow League, in a press release. “Big Boi and I have known each other for many years, and his music, creativity, style and passion aligns so perfectly with what we’re trying to create with this new league. I’m so pumped to have him there in Aspen, and I know both the athletes and the crowd will love every minute of it.”

Big Boi performed at the halftime show of the Super Bowl in 2019. Together with Andre 3000, OutKast is responsible for some of the best songs in all of hip hop, including "So Fresh, So Clean," "The Way You Move," and White's personal favorite "Bombs Over Baghdad."

"Aye, much love to my guy Shaun White for having me out in Aspen for The Snow League,” Big Boi, government name Antwan André Patton, said in the press release. “That boy is a legend—it only makes sense for him to create an event like this. I’m looking forward to supporting him and bringing that ATL flavor up to the mountain.”

Big Boi and White teamed up with Patron to hang out at the Formula One race in Las Vegas at the end of 2024.

For Complex Magazine, they sat down together for a round of GOAT talk. They talked about the greatest Outkast song of all time, the greatest rap ad-lib of all time, and their greatest memory of hanging out together. Spoiler alert, it’s when they rode horses on the beach together in Jamaica.

Maddie Mastro, Maddy Schaffrick, and Ayumu Hirano will all compete at Buttermilk Mountain on March 7 and 8, 2025 in Snow League's debut. The full field will consist of 36 athletes, 20 men and 16 women.

Hirano, 25, will be joined by his 21-year-old brother Kaishu Hirano. Japanese standouts Ruka Hirano and Ryusei Yamada are also among the list of athletes competing.

Athletes will accumulate points based on their results from each stop, and eventually, there will be a Snow League World Champion, similar to Formula 1 or NASCAR racing. The league can also be a gateway to qualifying for the Olympics: Results from each stop also count toward the World Snowboard Points List.
