Snowboarding's 7 Must-Watch Midseason Video Drops

Believe it or not, we’re at the midway point of the snowboard season for many zones across the United States. With that timestamp comes the slow release of video projects. They range from edits made up of leftover material that didn’t make the final cut of an early-season project, to vlog-style edits, to expeditions.

Here’s a short list of videos to throw on the next time you need some inspiration.

1. Octopus – A 24-Hour Chamonix Splitboarding Adventure

Big mountain expedition films are usually a few thing: epic, inspiring, stressful. Rarely are they comedic, though, Octopus kind of changes all that. Pica Henry, Laurent Bibolllet, Manu Gross, and Nick Russell tackle a 24-hour riding adventure in Chamonix, France that involves them riding eight couloirs in a single push. It’s funny, it’s impressive, and it features an early-morning ascent that leads the crew to drop in using just their headlamps. Wild stuff.

2. Under Covered Bridges: A DWD New England Tour

If you haven’t heard the song “Riot” by Three Days Grace in a while, and you’re looking to change that: oh boy, do I have the project for you. Dinosaurs Will Die’s Sean Genovese brings along a massive crew of riders to tour some of the coolest – and most under-the-radar – spots in New England. Loon Mountain and McIntyre Parks in New Hampshire. Darkside Snowboard’s DarkPark and Mt. Snow’s Carinthia Parks in Vermont. The crew hits them all, and stops at some of your favorite board shops along the way.

3. ThirtyTwo 30 Years Anniversary at Mammoth Mountain

Right before the X Games Aspen weekend, ThirtyTwo hosted its all star cast of characters at Mammoth Mountain for its annual team shoot. If this were conventional sports, it’s almost like the brand hosted an all star game right before the all star game. The crew that already claims JP Walker, Joe Sexton, and Pat Fava added Benny Milam, Patrick Hofmann, Mike Liddle, and Danyale Patterson to the squad, beefing up its lineup even more.

4. Strike

It’s pretty wild what some riders are able to call “leftover footage.” This three-minute edit from the Pride of Yawgoo was dropped on The North Face’s YouTube channel in early February. It features footage from Rand’s winter 2024 in Japan, Mt. Baker and Alaska. Spine riding, powder slashes, and wildcats are packed into this little edit.

5. Mechanical Bull

Jared Elston has been full-throttle the past few years. Those aren’t my words, but rather, the first sentence in the YouTube description of this video project that is somehow also made up of leftover footage. It kicks off with a massive tomahawk, and features not one but two Lil Yachty songs. Big Air Jar simply hasn’t been able to miss lately, and this edit is proof of that. Side note: can we have more snowboard edits that feature the music from the little boat?

6. Papsura: Peak of Evil

Nick Russell, we meet again. This film from Patagonia features Russell, Jeremy Jones, and Jerry Mark, but truly, the main character is Papsura, a 21,165-foot mountain tucked in the Indian Himalaya that has been dubbed the Peak of Evil. The late Hilaree Nelson conquered this mountain, and her inspiration for Russell’s attempt at this peak is clearly outlined in the film.

7. North Carolina Pop Out 2025 | Planet Zebulon

We’re going to put on for North Carolina, you know?

If you didn’t know, now you do. Zeb Powell, Alex Caccamo, and a crew of homies went south, back to where it all began for Zeb. The vlog features riding at Beech Mountain Resort, Cataloochee Ski Area, Appalachian Ski Mountain. Within the first few minutes of the edit, Kaden Rusinko drops in off the roof of JK and Brantley Mullins’ parents mountainside cabin. The party keeps going from there.
