Don’t call it beginner’s luck. Noémie Equy is your 2025 Freeride World Tour Champion, and the season’s not even over yet.

Equy was crowned top dog at the the Fieberbrunn Pro last week. She tore up the early parts of the season, consistently landing on the podium. With a comfortable lead in the standings, all she needed was a solid performance to clinch the championship. She did better than that.

She won at Fieberbrunn. Not too bad for a Freeride World Tour rookie.

"I feel more than happy—I'm super stoked! Today was a stressful day for me because I knew that if I won, I would be Champion,” she said after the win. “Now, in Verbier, I can just ride for myself without thinking about points or rankings. I can simply focus on expressing my snowboarding and pushing the limits of the Snowboard Women category.”

As the FWT heads into Verbier, Australian rider Michaela Davis-Meehan sits in second place with 26,000 points, and France’s Anna Martinez is in third with 19,275. Spain’s Núria Castan Baron sits in fourth place with 17,920 points.

Equy used speed, confidence, and precision to navigate the upper chutes at Fieberbrunn. She then linked “a fluid double drop” and tossed a frontside 360 halfway down the run. A calculated descent helped her take home a score of 83.33.

Fieberbrunn marked the most decisive moment of the tour all season. That’s because only 60% of the riders can advance to the FWT finals.

On the men’s side of things, American Michael Mawn is among those that made the cut. He sits in seventh place in the FWT standings with 16,640 points. French rider Enzo Nilo sits just above him with 16,795. American Holden Samuels is in fifth place with 17,020, and Canadian Jonathan Penfield has 17,920.

British freerider Cody Bramwell is in third place with 20,620 points, while Switzerland’s Liam Rivera has 21,275. French rider Victor De Le Rue has been on a tear all season long, and is in first place with 26,400 points.

“Today’s competition in the Austrian Alps showcased big-air, exciting runs, and brought an animated crowd to watch the action under blue skies,” FWT officials said in a press release. “Three categories now know who will compete on the legendary Bec des Rosses face at the 30th Anniversary YETI Xtreme Verbier by Honda in Switzerland in a couple weeks.”
