A skier has died at West Virginia's Timberline Mountain, the resort said on its Facebook page Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
"We want to express our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones affected by this tragedy," the post says. "The incident remains under investigation. We ask for the community’s understanding that out of respect for the family, we have no further details to share."
There is little information available at the time of publication. The investigation into the death is ongoing. The resort told the local news outlet WBOY that it would not share additional information out of respect for the victim's family.
Law enforcement in the area has not yet commented on the situation, WBOY said.
"We are immensely grateful to our ski patrol, staff, and local first responders for their swift and professional efforts. Our thoughts are with all those impacted by this devastating event," the post said. "Timberline Mountain is committed to the safety and well-being of our guests. Thank you for your support and compassion during this difficult time."
