A banked slalom will be held at Mt. Seymour, BC in honor of Jeff Keenan, Alex Pashley, and Jason Remple on April 13, 2025.
The banked slalom is to honor the lives of beloved members of the snowboarding and skiing community, and will not be timed. It will run from noon to 4 p.m., and be followed by a tailgate in the parking lot.
It’s a fitting way to honor a man who is part of the group of riders that created the Baked Salmon Banked Slalom, hosted on Mt Seymour.
“Jeff was a huge part of the snowboard community at Mt Seymour and the wider snowboard landscape. His younger days were spent here as part of the Skids (Seymour Kids), a crew of snowboarders that helped define snowboarding in the 90s and 2000s,” the Mt. Seymour Facebook page said. “Jeff and his friends worked tirelessly to bring that event to life and create a space for the snowboard community to thrive. Jeff will be missed, but his spirit will ride on!”
Keenan died when he was caught in an avalanche on Monday, March 24, 2025 north of Kaslo, British Columbia, along with Pashley and Remple.

Keenan, 44, cofounded Dinosaurs Will Die with Sean Genovese. He is survived by his fiancé Leanne Pelosi and their son Khyber.
Pashley, 45, was the global sports marketing manager at The North Face, and worked at Dragon, Smartwool, and Rossignol before that. Remple, 53, started Stellar Heli Skiing in 2005 with his wife Kerry Luckey.
There will also be a ride in honor of Keenan on his birthday April 3 that will be held at Goats Pass at Whistler, and starts at 11 a.m. After, an après will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. at R.M.U. All sales from the après will be donated toward the family of Keenan.
