Snowboard season isn’t over yet in Arizona.
The Arizona Snowbowl will extend its season by four days, the ski area announced last week. The new closing day will now be Monday, May 5.
The extension comes after extensive early-season snowmaking and grooming, along with some strong snowfall throughout March. A storm that brought 18” of snowfall over the weekend reinforced the decision to stay open.
The ski area will be open between May 2, 2025, and May 5, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will not be any beginner terrain available for riders.
The Agassiz Lodge Restaurant and 9500’ Bar will be open for food and drinks. Lift tickets start at $19 and include a $10 voucher for food, beverages, rentals, or retail. Equipment rentals will also be available for $19 online.
As of April 21, 2025, the Snowbowl has 27 of 61 trails open and four of eight lifts spinning. The base depth is around 50”, and the ski area has gotten 193” of snowfall during the season. The Arizona Gondola will spin from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
"Come get those spring laps in!” the snow report says. “This past weekend’s storm covered the mountain in fresh snow, and conditions are great for skiing & riding in the sunshine!”
Those who wish to purchase a season pass for the 2025-2026 season can ride the rest of 2025 for free. That sale ends on April 25, 2025.
The passes available to purchase include the Weekday Power Pass for $99, which permits unlimited access for one day every single week from the start to the end of the season, with no blackout dates.
The 12-Day Power Pass includes 12 restricted days at Snowbowl, Purgatory, and Lee Canyon and unlimited access at Brian Head, Nordic Valley, Pajarito, Sandia Peak, Sipapu, and Willamette Pass for $549.
The Power Kids Pass provides unlimited free skiing for kids 12 and younger at Arizona Snowbowl, plus 10 other resorts.
The resort announced its earliest opening day in history in November 2024. The Snowbowl spun its chairlifts on November 8, 2024. Spur Catwalk, Lower Bowl, Log Jam, Wild Turkey, and Round Up were all available to riders at the earliest in the resort’s 86-year history.
That opening date was pushed up two weeks thanks to several early-season storms and colder temperatures.
Summer operations at the Arizona Snowball will start on May 23, 2025, so long as the weather allows.
