The lifts aren’t spinning just yet off of Exit 32 in Lincoln, New Hampshire, but Loon Mountain has announced an event to raise money for the non-profit Boarding for Breast Cancer.

The event is held in conjunction with Beyond the Boundaries, a company that hosts all-women snowboard trips and camps. The ride day is the organization’s second at Loon, as it held the first ever BTBounds Ride Day on the East Coast with the help of Nitro Snowboards. This year's event will take place on December 13, 2024.

Registration for the day is $25, and a portion of the proceeds will go to Boarding for Breast Cancer. Riders (and skiers, it should be noted, as they are allowed for this event) must still purchase a lift ticket at Loon, but will get the chance to ride with the BTBounds coaches.

The list of the BTBounds coaching crew is long, and includes riders like Fay Gulini, Madison Blackley, Alexis Roland, Brantley Mullins, Mary Rand, and Kimmy Fasani – who herself is a breast cancer survivor. The organization was founded by Christine Savage and former Snowboarder editor Mary Walsh.

Après, prizes, a raffle, and instruction are all included in the cost of a ticket, and the organization gives women the opportunity to meet new riders. The environment is meant to be casual, intended to give the riders in attendance a comfortable and casual riding environment to learn something new. This ride day is not park-specific.

“Loon is a place that is very near and dear to us at BTBounds and this one-day event is going to be wicked awesome,” the event page on the website says.

Here’s the schedule for the day:

9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. – Check in at The Junction
9:45 a.m. – Coaches introduction and daily run-down
10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Ride
12:30 p.m. to 1: 30 p.m. – Lunch and demo board set up.
1:30 p.m. – Meet outside the Bunyan Room to prepare to ride for the afternoon
1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. – More riding. Top-to-bottom runs, park laps, trail tricks, and side hits.
3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. - Après in the Bunyan Room. A B4BC benefit raffle with tons of prizes from Oakley, Vans, ThirtyTwo, and more.

You can register for the event here.

B4BC is a non-profit that was founded in 1996 with the mission of preparing young people with education on early breast cancer detection. The group promotes the importance of a healthy lifestyle as the best means of prevention, and provides support for those affected by breast cancer. The non-profit was co-founded by Lisa Hudson, who currently is the sitting president, and was inspired by Monica Steward, who began her battle with breast cancer at the age of 26.

Early trailblazers Tina Basich and Shannon Dunn were the spokeswomen for the first ever B4BC event in 1996.
